Y is for Yeshua

This is a poem I wrote some years back and I would like to share it with all of you.

It’s early. I found my son sleeping,

full of peace.

His room’s cold but he does not whimper.

He is strong.

His hands and feet are tightly strung from

years of work.

He’s used them, suffered with them, to bring

in the sheep

and to delicately deliver

their children.

It’s sunrise.  The light colors his flesh

dark and scarred.

His eyes bid good morning and begin

a new day.
